Mother's Day

Mother's Day
We arrived at the airport just before lunch and went straight to the Hougham's house to celebrate Mother's Day/my birthday/the Schroeder baby gender reveal.
We were so tired but it was very nice to be back with the family here again.
For dessert, mom made flower pot with ice cream and a hidden gummy worm. The 3 young boys got to serve the moms. So sweet! It was a special day!

Graduations

Abbi's Graduation

William got to come and surprise Abbi!

Abbi & Brett

Family Party

Makenzie likes Mr. Steven. One of the best parts of the trip was hearing Brennan say, "It's a secret, don't tell anyone.... Mr. Steven is Superman and he's going to save the day!"

Once Brennan saw my cousin bring in a stack of kids books, he sat and read for the rest of the party. This kiddo loves his books.

Grandma & Grandpa with their grandkids

Ryan and I sent the kids with Nana & Papa while we drove up to Indiana to see my former room mate and dear friend Lisa. It was wonderful to reconnect in person !

Scott's Graduation

Next up was our trip to Kentucky to see Ryan's brother graduation from University of Kentucky.
It was wonderful to spend time together :)

Family Vacation

 Williamsburg
Nana & Papa went with us a for a little while to downtown colonial Williamsburg. That place was so fun! I'd been there before, but it was much different having the kids with us.

He was so in love with this hat and had a hard time parting with it, but the merchandise there was ridiculously expensive. We settled for cute pictures :)

At first he was pretending to yell, but then he all of the sudden he realized that stocks really aren't that comfortable and the scream became real :)

Brennan was pretty distressed by the wood shop... he didn't like that the floor was so messy, so the man handed him a broom so he could do something about it. :)

The place we stayed was pretty amazing. It had a pool, a mini golf course, an awesome playground, shuffle board, and more... This was Makenzie's first time in a pool. She LOVED it!

Our little navigator on day #2 in Williamsburg. Such a happy girl. She was bored stiff unless someone would look at her. She'd be in the middle of fussing, someone would look at her, and she'd light up like a lightbulb. They'd look away and she'd fuss until the next person paid attention to her. Same thing when I pointed a camera at her. You'd think she was attention starved, but she is SO not! Hm......

We loved how they had people in character walking around town. We had Brennan stop every person he saw and ask what their name was and what they did here. It was adorable so hear him carrying on full conversations and everyone was incredibly kind.

This made his day... why do boys love guns so much?

So, this was a fun almost excursion. Suzanna's boyfriend Steven brought these awesome Chinese lanterns to release into the sky that we were stoked about. We had them all lit and were all prepared for a lantern "Tangled" moment, when a security officer came up and told us to put out the open fires. Way...more dangerous than sending them off. Dad got a hole burned in his shirt trying to get these things out. The whole experience had a huge impact on Brennan and he talked about the security officer for a couple of days afterwards.
How cool would this have been!

Special time with Poppop and GG. Grateful they could be with us.

 Jamestown

This little guy does NOT like loud noises, and was not thrilled when the soldier actually shot the gun twice!

We ended the trip back in Greenville so I could help Jess with her cake for her son Kyle's birthday. It was a fun time - we even got Ryan and her husband Tim involved. When the host walked in and asked the guys if they wanted to see his gun, Ryan and Tim couldn't say yes and walk out fast enough! lol
We enjoyed the time with our family!
